Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Self pity is deceptive and can strike without warning when we let circumstances cloud our vision. It stirs in us a worldly sorrow that brings death rather than repentance that leads to life. We need a new perspective so that our attitude can change. Its like a breath of hope when we begin to be transformed by the Word of God. Your faith will start growing by hearing of the Word of God. Say today: God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Amen. Now go produce fruit in keeping with repentance. Meaning go prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Do not wallow in self pity to the point where you accept sin and approve those who do. LORD Jesus, you know of my shame, scorn, and disgrace. You see all that my enemies are doing. Their insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. If only one person would show some pity; if only one would turn and comfort me. Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul. Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life. Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.
