Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man
In a world where so many things seem impossible with man, all things are possible with God. I know that the LORD can do all things, and that no purpose of His can be thwarted. Every word that goes out from His mouth; it shall not return empty, but it will accomplish that which He purposed, and shall succeed in the thing for which He sent it. Behold, He is the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Him? Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles. He gives rain for the earth and water for the fields. He gives prosperity to the poor and protects those who suffer. He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed. He traps the wise in their own cleverness, so their cunning schemes are thwarted. They find it is dark in the daytime, and they grope at noon as if it were night. He rescues the poor from the cutting words of the strong and rescues them from the clutches of the powerful. And so, at last the poor have hope, and the snapping jaws of the wicked are shut. Amen. The most amazing and seemingly impossible thing God does is use the fragility of man for His Glory. How in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. How things intended to harm people, God can still make good bringing even glory and honor to His Holy Name. For He allows people to be in a desperate position so they could even save a life for eternity! Think about this: The blood of the Martyrs is the seed of the Church! Oh, how the power of God is displayed in the foolishness and wickedness of man! The LORD Jesus knows how save even the uttermost, yes by the power of His Love working through hearts! Look how in the brokenness of sin and evil in our world God shows His Sovereignty and Providence. Man is a sinner, but God in Christ does His best impossible work through them. His ways are higher than the ways of this world and the evil principalities that try to destroy humanity. People ask all the time why has this certain thing happened? Only God can truly make sense of it all. Because He alone allows bad things to happen to people so that the works of God might be displayed in them! Thats making the impossible happen. God using broken people to restore His Kingdom, His World here on Earth as it is in Heaven. Trust in the Lord Jesus with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Amen. What a miracle it is to hear a frail imperfect human being say, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Ask Jesus today to get you through it all, even the impossible. Oh God, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
