Oh To Be Wise Meditations
I see two trees growing next to each other and there branches have grown together over time. The two have become one big tree sharing each others branches. The birds come and perch on both. The squirrels run to and FRO and make there living. And the owls go in the hollows of the tree. Its one big happy home connected by two trees. They weather the storms together and stay bonded even after a season of leaves falling. Then in spring time they receive the sunlight and rain and grow fuller more than ever. I can't imagine the mess that would be made if one was cut and the other left behind. You would ruin a lot of the branches but also a lot of the roots maybe intertwined in the ground. This illustration makes me think about marriage and how a man and woman become one. Two separate entities becoming one in purpose and mind. Slowly become one full tree able to house a family, a future. Also it makes me think about God as a Trinity. How all three are separate but yet are one. Imagine the bond shared in Heaven between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. How deep the roots go and are intertwined before the beginning of time and space. All we can do as finite human beings is look at the beauty of the branches and its complexities. Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. But the deep things of God we are not able to go deep into the roots and see. But what we do know is enough for know. And that this: According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
