The Empty Pursuit of More
Good morning Brothers, Happy Sabbath. God loves you. I love you. Praise God for waking you up this morning. Take a moment to thank God for his love and mercy. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord.(Romans 12:18,19). Let’s sing, Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou has been Thou forever will be. Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness! Lord unto me! This morning’s verse is from Luke 12:15. Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. Greed always seeks more, more validation, more status, more comfort, more things. True fulfillment is found when we're anchored in contentment, gratitude, and a deep relationship with God. Where do you have an endless craving for more, more validation, more comfort, more possessions? The more earthly possessions, status, or validation we gain, the more we are left dissatisfied. Are there areas of your life where the constant pursuit of more might be overshadowing the pursuit of God's kingdom and His righteousness? Watch out! Be on your guard! God loves you. Have a blessed day.
