Tues morning zoom battle prayer link 4/16/24

Tues morning zoom battle prayer is on! Let’s do this! New week, new theme with new topics. Come join with brothers in Christ and let’s grow together in the knowledge of Jesus. The LORD is raising up men that understand the times they are living in and want to pursue stronger relationship with God and each other.

This new week we are starting a new series.

Bible Study Series

Overall Theme: Fishers of men. How to Win Friends and Influence People

The phrase “fishers of men” was spoken by Jesus when He was calling two of His disciples, Simon Peter and Andrew, to follow Him. “As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him” (Mark 1:16–18; see also Matthew 4:19).

The idea behind fishing is to know the fish you are looking for and attract it so you can make the catch. To catch a fish, we must know what equipment to use, the habitat and depth of the water we are fishing in, as well as the kind of bait the fish will go after. After we understand everything, we need for real fishing, then how do we relate that to being fishers of men?

There was a book that I read in High School called How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It was such a good read and reminds me of the call of Christ to go make disciples, fishers of men. Will be bringing some thoughts from that book into our study and prayer time. How to communicate effectively. How to make people like you. How to increase your ability to get things done. How to get others to see your side. How to become a more effective leader. How to successfully navigate almost any social situation.

May Jesus teach us how to win friends and truly influence people for the Kingdom.

Topics: 1. The Value of Humility in Leadership. Read Prov. 11:2 2. The Power of a Positive Attitude and Faith Read Rom. 12:12 3:  The discipline of friendship. Read John 15:13-15
