Oh To Be Wise Meditations

It seems whenever I ask God for something he sends me a storm with it. Almost always he sends a trial if I am asking for spiritual fruit like patience, peace, joy, and love. These things are only produced in our lives through discipline, the discipline of Gods love in our lives. There are so many things we ask God for that we have no business asking. We ask amiss because of our foolish desires, thank God he doesn't always give us what we ask for. In hindsight I see the error of ways in so many things I want but don't necessarily need. Its amazing how pain pushes out of the biggest of rewards. If we suffer in something we appreciate it more. I am not saying we have to suffer always, but there is something powerful about waiting and suffering on the LORD. Yes, I ask for patience and he sent me a storm. I asked for joy and sent me loss. I asked for love and sent me an enemy. I asked for hope and he sent me the impossible. Woe to those who run only after the physical miracles of God without enduring and pursuing personal relationship with Christ. To continually only seek the things of God than his presence. I would rather suffer for his name than to gain the whole world. Listen to Paul's heart towards the Galatian's: I want to know only one thing. How were you given God's Spirit? Was it by obeying the Law of Moses or by hearing about Christ and having faith in him? How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die. We need the spiritual fruit that lasts in our lives to overcome this world like Christ did. Receive the presence of the LORD Jesus in your lives daily and pursue Him more than your daily bread or grand miracles. Hear Jesus say: Those whom I [early and tenderly love, I rebuke and discipline, showing them their faults and instructing them; so be enthusiastic and repent, change your inner self your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior, yes learn to seek God’s will always.
