Oh To Be Wise Meditations

The restoration of a nation starts with the truth. This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Just as I had determined to bring disaster on you and showed no pity when your ancestors angered me,” says the LORD Almighty, “so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid. These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,” declares the LORD. As a society we must pursue the truths of God in our cities, in our communities, and in our lives. It is the salt of the earth that keeps a broken world like ours viable. So many people live without God truths and its society as a whole that suffers for it. And we should not only desire what is truth, but who is truth which is Jesus. And that's a personal one on one thing. But blessed is the nation who is the LORD's. He who walks with integrity and practices righteousness, who speaks the truth from his heart, who has no slander on his tongue, who does no harm to his neighbor, and who casts no scorn on his friend. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. The best example to all the nations is the body of Christ here on earth. As we live for Gods truths we become his salt on this earth. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one another. Yes, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head. Amen.
