Oh To Be Wise Meditations
The greatest thing that could happen to you is you realizing your identity in Christ. The movies and Hollywood play on this idea of someone finding out they are part of a secret wealthy family or group and never knew. Suddenly there whole life changes with riches and influence evermore. But that's make believe and many times expressed without reality. The Word of God is real and active and living and has a Word for us today and everyday. Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. Our true identity in Jesus will change our lives once we start to believe it. Creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons and daughters of God. Jesus has seated us with Him in Heavenly places. Many of us have been slaves to this world and suppressed that God given desire for eternity in our hearts. This world is not our home, we were never meant to live as slaves of sin but sons of righteousness. Every human people has royalty running through there veins. Once we realize the power the Gospel and the identity we have been missing out on, we will never be the same. Its like the movies but even better knowing our Father in heaven owns the thousands of cattle on the hill. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan. God’s purpose was that the Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. And then the Gentiles having also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. Would then believe in Christ, He identified them as his own by giving them the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. What a treasure it is to find your identity in Christ. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. You need your identity today.
