A picture of waiting. I see a dark dungeon with a skeleton chained to the wall. Under lock and key at the mercy of iron bars. The enemy of our souls keeps us in bondage till death feeding sparingly crumbs of desire till hope maybe comes. Wicked people starve to death waiting for a miracle, wanting for affirmation and hope. Dying in their sins, all that is left is the promise of dry bones as the devil sucks the life out of dead hearts. But I also picture a child of God waiting in a prayer closet. Quietly and patiently waiting for the door to swing open and their is Jesus to give hope and fulfill real desire. There on their knees the child of God rests not chained but free to live and move and have their being. Outside the prayer closet door is chaos and fear, but the inside the closet is peace, love and joy. Waiting for the promises of God in Christ to knock down the door and find refuge in times of trouble. Even if they die waiting, God is able to bring life into time dried bones. Able to answer all prayers according His Will. A childlike faith the LORD will not deny, like a good father he will protect your soul. Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; fret not when men prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes. I will not say, “I will get even for this wrong.” No, I will wait for the LORD to handle the matter. When I pray I will go into a room alone and close the door. Praying to my Father in private, I know He will reward me openly with His Presence. Jesus is the door to my faith. I know He will open to me the gates of righteousness.
